The Department of
Mathematics with the aim of education and research in mathematical science
began its activities in 1994. This department offers undergraduate
programs leading to B.Sc. degree in Pure Mathematics. This department also offers graduate
programs leading to M.Sc. degree in Pure Mathematics in the field of Algebra.
Also the Department of Mathematics offers mathematical courses for students studying at
different departments in the Bu Ali Sina university.
At present,
the Department of Mathematics has 13 full-time faculty members who have graduated from
different universities around the world. More than 300 students are currently
enrolled in the department, 10 of whom are studying at M.Sc. level.
The
Department has a chairman who administrates department. The chairman of department
is elected by faculty members' votes for two years.
Admission to this
department is achieved through a nationwide entrance examination held annually by the
Ministry of Science , Research and Technology .
