It is hereby informed that, based on the official results of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2026, Bu-Ali Sina University, while maintaining its global position of 1500-1201, was able to witness significant improvements in scores and leaps in national rankings in all key indicators. This success was achieved in the light of targeted research policies and the diligent efforts of the university's large family.
Key achievements:
1. Historic leap in the research environment (at the national level):
The greatest national competitive achievement: The university's rank in the national "research environment" index (which includes research income and research reputation) rose by an astonishing 7 places, from 15th to 8th in the country. This leap places Bu-Ali Sina University among the top 10 universities in Iran in the field of infrastructure and research environment and indicates the effectiveness of investments and optimal management of research resources.
2. Qualitative and quantitative growth in global indices:
Increase in research environment score: The university's absolute score in the global "Research Environment" index increased from 17.1 in 2025 to 20.9 in 2026.
Strengthening interaction with industry: The university's score in the "Interaction with Industry" index increased from 24.7 to 26.9, indicating the successful expansion of technological and economic connections with non-academic sectors.
Progress in international image: The score of this index increased with the highest growth rate among all indices, from 26.5 to 32.6, and its national rank also rose 7 places to 26. This indicates success in developing international research collaborations and attracting foreign researchers.
3. Stabilizing its position in the country's competitive environment:
Bu Ali Sina University maintained its 16th rank among the country's comprehensive universities, which, given the increase in the number and quality of competitors, indicates the consolidation of the success of last year's 6-place jump and the continuation of the growing trend.
